I just bought a Suzuki Swift with 6 months MOT for £95 and a very nice
runner it is too!

I think you can't go wrong with an old (square) shape "K10" Nissan
Micra. They're bulletproof, easy to drive and very cheap to buy, run
and insure. Many have very low mileage as well as they're primarily a
granny chariot.

Alternatively, how about one of these:

Electric, no need for road tax, license or insurance or a helmet (but
I'd wear one if I were you).
