Best motorway food : Italy Worst: UK
IME anyway (in the Western World anyway)
Yup I dont disagree at all.
UK motorway food used to be *much* worse. I remember once going into the old Rank (well named) services near Birmingham - taking one look at the burnt offerings swimming in rancid fat and decided I wasn't hungry any more. These days you can usually find something edible in most of them.
In extrimis it is hard even for a UK service station to mistreat a bar of chocolate sufficiently to render it inedible.
Places on the continent do much better quality motorway food.
