twat does 95mph, gets flashed then hits the interwebnets, want's
to know what's all this flashing about ? well, it made me laugh.

to avoid the above

you presume wrong.

has the OP dfined which camera he was flashed by ? no. then why would
anyone venture a guess as to what happened on that dark road, late at
night when even the OP doesn't seem to have a clue what he was flashed
by, hmmm ? venturing a guess on usenet is an open invitation to the sort
of person who asks why I didn't tell them how cameras work when they
themselves don't know which camera flashed them....

could have been a photography student or some joker with a flashgun
( hahaha, now there's an idea for a cracking wheeze :o) )

it's TRUE, get over yourself. I was a bit late on a red light a few months
ago, hit the brakes, checked the junction was clear (again) and decided
to carry on. why was Iate with my braking ? because I was overconcentrating
on the 30mph SPECS cameras !

I didn't see the flashes, felt really, really stupid for /potentially/ being caught
on a regular route by something I've been aware of since it was installed.

I was worried, initially and then seemed to forget about /maybe/ getting an
NIP. by the time the 14 days was up I'd largely forgotten about it and had to
work out from my diary the NIP expiry date. I am also likely to make a /mistake/
in the future (though unlikely to do 95mph without good reason and checking
the route for known cams) and someone is quite welcome to accuse me of
crying like a baby if I get done / flashed and moan / panic on the web about it.

sounds like the OP was negligent by not availing themselves of a copy of
save your licence which goes into detail about cameras, how they work, etc.
and one of the many GPS speed sentry / cam database devices on the market.
