"EIGHT Brits were arrested after racing at up to 170mph on a German motorway
during a Gumball-style rally.
Cops said four of the maniacs were high on either cocaine, cannabis or speed
as they drove brand-new £120,000 sports cars including a Ferrari 360,
Lamborghini Gallardo and Porsche Turbo.

They were caught on video weaving in and out of traffic and overtaking on
hard-shoulders. A helicopter followed for 50 miles as patrol cars could not
keep up.

But they were surrounded by 15 police cars as they stopped to fill up with
petrol near Nuremberg.

The men - from London and aged in their 20s or early 30s - were charged with
dangerous driving. All were kept in cells overnight and fined up to £2,000
each before being released on Monday.

One said: "We passed about six unmarked police cars but they couldn't keep
up. We just got a bit carried away."

Another boasted he had organised the 3,000-mile race after finding the rival
Gumball rally "not as posh as it was supposed to be".

Four other racers escaped. Each paid £5,000 per car to race through 13
countries over eight days, staying in five-star hotels along the way. They
brought three women models and three cameramen with them.

German cops are catching more and more Brits racing on their motorways,
which have no speed limit."
