Now please explain how this is different from a driver looking to
himself first rather blaming "the dangerous road".

Why? I don't believe that the word is suitable so I use quotes to draw
attention to the fact. (Note: this is not trying to redefine the word,
rather that I believe the application to be incorrect.)

Errr... that is what this whole debate is about. That is precisely what
