BTW, a large part of the A1 was the former Ermine Street from Roman
times and I'm not sure which "proper vehicles" the Roman's designed
it for.
You thick twat. The A1 'follows' the route of the Roman road - it isn't
the same one Simple Simon.
So what? It was designed by the Romans as a route north out of London. The
fact that it has had some tarmac slapped on it does not alter the original
*design* one jot.
I think you will find that the A1 was not designed by the Romans at
all.
There are small parts of it which coincide with Ermine Street which
took a totally different route.
Anyway - feel free to tell us what the primary traffic was on the
Roman Roads.
PS Like most roads - it was not built for bikes.

Stopping distances for bicycles do not appear in the HC ... and so
cannot be of any consequence.
