they are reduced to searching for killed cyclists
stories and posting them on a message site that nobody cares about.

so why are you reading it? I admit I came here in response to loony posts
from Doug, and astonishing posts from Judith, that were crossposted into
UK
legal. Here I found even more blinkered people with nothing to say other
than defend their own untenable position..
I do wonder why, on a cycling newsgroup there is no one that posts
anything
interesting or nice about cyclists. As a response to the lack of interest
by others, to keep the group alive and encourage lively debate, I post
incredible stories from the internet showing how dumb 'real' cyclists
really
are, to highlight their shortcomings.
I trust you will be calling for an end to rally driving after this
incident? Your letter on the Mirror website called for an end to cycle
TT racing after that 53 year old woman was killed. Are you going to be
consistent with your safety advice, or is your agenda nothing to do
with road safety whatsoever and you are indeed a "professional
killjoy" as I suspected.

there have been at least 2 incidents of cyclists riding straight into parked
cars and dying this year. they were both engaged in time trials on the
road. as this is straight line stuff which appears to take away all normal
sense , I feel that it should be stopped on the public roads, it serves no
purpose other than self gratification. there are purpose built tracks that
can be used.
