But I wasn't suggesting that the lower rates were anything to do with
helmets or otherwise. I was pointing out that /if/ helmets were really
good then countries with so many accidents by number potentially
happening (20% /rate/ times by a much, much greater rate of cycling)
then it would make enormous sense for everyone to be wearing them. But
they don't.
They've got better infrastructure in Germany too, and they're much
keener on lids than the Dutch (go to the Dutch coast and play
spot-the-tourist on the fietspads, it's easy), but the heads don't seem
to be any better off.
