Good point. And they also don't know that the photo of their numberplate (which they presumably saw Simon taking) was illegible.

If they try to
escalate matters - or if you are involved in a mysterious collision
somewhere - the plod will know where to look first.

I /think/ in that situation I would just keep riding in as usual. But whatever you do, report back in a day or two. You've been missed around here.
