That's good. So even if I cycled there, I'm a motorist. Glad that's settled then.
I wonder how one stops being a motorist. Is it when one gets out of a car? A certain amount of time later? Obviously it's not when one relinquishes ownership of a car - there are plenty of examples of motorists in cars not their own. How about it being if you've got a driving licence? Except that covers pretty much everybody, including lots of people who have and ride bikes.
Same questions for cycling - ownership? riding? Actually riding the thing? If I've driven to a cycling event, in the time between getting out of the car and getting on the bike, when did the invisible transmutation happen converting me from motorist to cyclist? If I was grumpy from having been in traffic jams, but was made happier later by the act of freely riding a bike, would I have been a cyclist while in the car, but a motorist while on the bike?
I wonder if "Sir Jeremy" will stop spouting such nonsense...
Doesn't seem likely Clive. Neither common sense nor silly replies have had that effect yet.
