A similar question if I may. At what age would you consider it "safe" to
cycle on a road - say in a road busy town, a fairly quiet built up area and
in the countryside.
Also besides the designation (and therefore legal aspect) what are the
differences between cycling on a pavement/footpath compared with a shared
cyclepath, a canal towpath, a bridleway, a forest track etc.
Not that I think riding on a pavement is right but then again neither is a
"pensioner mobile". (I won't go there).
