Re: Newsgroup Charter

On balance the newsgroup probably was better a few years ago. But everything
seems better in your memory than it actually was. I miss Driftwood, who
posted all the links to the Chrismas Advent Competitions and has disappeared
without trace, and the Compersmentis person who had a link with details of
all entry forms and dates when they closed in supermarkets. However, there
are hardly any apart from Morrisons now unfortunately. Don't miss that
Stefaniuk guy though (the troll).

Was this group really better some years ago?
It was very friendly but also some bitching?

Indeed it was friendly and there was bitching, but there was also lots of
discussions and laughs along the way as long as a lot of us posting from
different magazines etc.

I find it easier to keep my head down and concentrate on entering and
winning competitions.

I actually kind of agree - I'm not working at the moment so I've gone back
to comping and tend to just want to enter as many as I can to get more of
a chance of winning.

It makes me smile when they say they don't use Deb's posting. I'm
pleased, because
it gives me a better chance of winning.

Likewise actually. I've never felt the need to give Deb a hard time about
copying or posting because actually when I've not been able to get access
to Loquax which is where I get most of what I enter etc, I can still get
access to the newsgroup and therefore miss whatever is on Loquax. I'm
actually pleased that Debs got the time to post them. I would never have
won the £100 voucher from Muller if Debs hadn't posted it because at the
time I couldn't get on Loquax at the time. Without Debs posting it, I
wouldn't have won. (She also jogged my memory about entering it).

And good luck to all those who read this post.

Paul

ps Can I be the first to say Merry Xmas ;-)

And to you Paul :)
