O/T - possible fix for irritating Tiscali / Virgin Newsgroup Glitch

Some users like me who are hooked up to cable and use a reader to view newsgroups. If like me you finding it annoying that the messages expire and disappear after a couple of days I think i have found a semi solution.

Create a folder in your inbox (i called mine comp newsgroup)

Go into the newsgroup and select all the messages (or some messages, in fact any that you want to save). To do a block of messages go to the top one, click on it to highlight it, go down to the lowest one, press shift and click on the message with the mouse. You will see that they are all highlighted now.

While they are all highlighted right-click on your mouse and select COPY TO FOLDER. A box will pop up showing all your folders; find the one you want (comp newsgroup) and click on it and press ok.
Depending on how many you have it may take a few seconds for them to appear in there.

You may now want to delete them from the origianl newsgroup to avoid you entering the same comp twice and from getting confused.

You can now enter comps from the folder you created and keep them there as long as you wish.

This is not a total solution by any means, as if you get any responses / comp answers then you will have to move those responses to your folder and sort by the title of the email to keep your responses together. It is pretty useful if you are gonna be away from the PC for a few days and want to keep them for when you are ready.

I hope this has been helpful to some folks ....im gonna cary on lurking now
