Da Vinci Code Quest - (Google) CD12.5.06

Have to solve a sort of sudoku using four symbols (quite easy)
when you do you are asked the question "Name the symbol"
It looks like a triangle or delta, but doesn't seem to accept that answer
so it must have a different meaning in the book (why did I lend my copy to
my Father in Law)
Anyone have any idea what the symbol is?
