Cerian - according to the headers of your posts, you are already
using
BY's text server. Just a thought - have you anyone in your 'blocked
senders' list? Might be worth checking against the googlegroups
archive?

Oooops, just noticed posts reporting missing posts in newsgroup
blueyonder.support.usenet and this ticket on BYs status page
http://www.blueyonder.co.uk/status/serviceissue.do?ticket=308377
Could this be the problem, maybe?

Belay that - I've just checked Posts today in this ng using BY's text
server - 213. Posts today using my usual server 346. Yep. BY are
losing loads of posts.[1]

Thanks jammy, although I didn't realise I was missing that many posts
:(

What's the usual server you use? HWMBI did say that we could swap to
another server but it would make a mess in my ng, I'd end up seeing
posts that I'd already marked as read etc etc and I don't know if I
can be bothered to go through the palaver :(

I use news.readfreenews.net which is free, but unfortunately is no longer taking new sign-ups for posting access :-(
http://www.aioe.org/ is free, doesn't require signing up to, but is slow and only allows you to post 25 messages a day.
A lot of people I know use http://news.individual.net/ which is very reliable and only costs 10 euros a year. I used to use this last one as my main newsserver when it was free, and never had a problem with it.

I always have at least three newsservers in my newsgroups list, just in case one falls over.....
