I would ensure that both the Software is uninstalled from both ID's and that the Hardware Drivers are uninstalled (1) from both ID's then cold boot (Turn off at the mains and leave for a couple of mins). Then install the software under 1 ID only plug in the dongle and wait for windows to tell you it has found new hardware, then follow the on screen prompts, make sure everything is working and then set up your security WEP/WPA etc.. once all is working, move onto 2nd ID

(1) Goto:
Control Panel
System
Device Manager
Network adapters
Double click on the USB Dongle
Click on the Driver Tab
Uninstall

    ... down windows like crazy so i did another format and installed it ... i updated until right before sp2. ... When you install from scratch it is best that you have as many updates ... Download your hardware drivers and SP2 and get them on some external media ...

I thought winxp automatically updated everything when i did windows ... corrupted and it wouldnt start up and bc i needed a format. ... get those downloaded and installed first thing *after* you manually install ...
