A lot of repo selling financiers are asking 21 for mortgage and 14 for
cash these days because they need the funds in.
If you can't proceed they won't consider your offer, and from mortgage
in principle to completed application that can take 2 weeks especially
at this time of year.
I'm seriously considering moving to somewhere where semi-decent houses
can be had for under 60 grand. Does sound bloody tempting.
They're usually cheap for a reason. Like crappy area or no work.
If you're smart you can buy in a nice area which is near enough to a crappy area to drag the prices down, and in many areas prices are low because some major employer(s) have closed down in the preceding decade. I'm not saying that you're going to get a nice view of the dales for £50k, but for three time that you might, and there's delivery work needed everywhere.
