It depends what you want from a mobile device really and I suspect
from a company prospective, everyone having Blackberries fed from
your own stable BES is a good enough reason to invest in them.

The droids get Blackberrys. I wouldn't have one, ever.

I'd happily have another if I ever went back to being a corporate whore.

The directors
get iPhones. I only want a phone to be a phone so I have a cheap
Samsung that makes and receives telephone calls and a 3G dongle for
my laptop.

:-)

I've got a Sony Ericsson W850i for phone calls.

When I commuted to London by train, I used to use it as an MP3 player as
well - did exactly what I wanted, as in the MP3 player interface was
reliable (1) and intuitive, with the added bonus of that it came with a
really good pair of headphones as standard.

I've actually had other phones since and always gone back to these, (this is
my third), as they just seem to do everything I want from a phone, and put
up with being dropped etc.

SE W series stuff I've tried since has been flawed in many ways,
unfortunately.

I've got a laptop with a 3G dongle and a high capacity battery for
everything else - certainly made a recent trip to Peteboghorror by train fly
by a lot quicker, that's for sure.

I wouldn't have an O2 contract even if they paid me to have one.
Cunts.

(1) I only mention reliability, given how crap some other phones I've had
have been when it comes to coping with stuff like this.
