Just done a trip to do a rush job for someone delivering some mirror arms from Bridlington to Modec in Coventry. As they were in two big boxes, I decided to chuck them in the boot of my Mondeo.
Barring the 44 mile SC A road stretch to the M62, the 50 limit through the roadworks from J28-26, M1 there and back and the 30 miles of SC A road from the M62 to my house it was 75-80 all the way with the aircon on the go for the entire trip.
Brimmed before setting off. Reset the trip computer and brimmed up when I got back to Driffield.
Did 291.8 miles and used 23.82 litres if diesel. By my reckoning, that's 55.7 MPG.
Trip computer said 57.8 MPG so it's still in line with my previously calculated 5% overread.
Manufacturer states 55MPG Extra Urban. I take it Extra Urban doesn't mean 75+MPH with a boot full of mirror arms?
I reckon if I'd turned off aircon and stuck to 70, I'd have got 60MPG.
Do you know the engine variant and year of your Mondeo?
