Generally you'd need 5%. That's probably 10% for something half decent.

Oh, ffs! Have you seen what you can get for a grand these days? - hell
push the boat out and for £2k you can have your pick of some very tasty
kit from the last 10 years.

I've been working for just 15 years, and if someone said I could retire
tomorrow on the same money as I earn at the moment, I'd bite their hand
off.

All this stuff has to be planned and sorted before you go splashing out
all your cash on a depreciating hulk of metal.
