Which model? That wasn't a recommended grade for older ones.
E34 with the M20 engine. Ran absolutely silent and was as clean inside
as it was when new. Had been on that for all its life going on the
service history.
ISTR 10/40 was the recommended grade - and semi synthetic. My main dealer
used Duckham's Hypergrade. Of course a better spec oil might well be ok -
but possibly wasting money.
I remember that when she first took it to the local BMW specialist that
something along those lines was mentioned but it was decided that as it
had been on 0W/30 full synth all its life to continue with that as it
obviously was very happy on it.
