Anyone had a problem with the steering on the Vectra?
I've an 03 plate with 95000 and yesterday I noticed that there seems to
be a delay when making a quick steering adjustment (going on my drive
involves switching from lock to lock for example). It feels like it as
no power for a split second.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bezzie
That is the symptom of a loose or slipping belt
Bit hard on a system with Electric Power Steering ;-)
Could be a number of things. Faulty rack, faulty EPS unit, bad power
connection to EPS, weak alternator, faulty yaw sensor.
Only way to find out what's going on is a diagnostic check.
sorry, didn't realise they changed from real steering (older vectras were
very definitely hydraulic), so it sounds like the standard Vauxhall 'you
need a new column, that is 750 quid please' like on electric corsas then.
