a few months after buying my car, Nissan Primera (R reg), I found a funny
shaped socket in a cubby hole. Not knowing what it was I binned it.
At a service today the garage asked where the key was for the locking
wheel nuts. I now realise what the odd looking socket was for. My previous
old bangers never needed to have locking doors so having locking wheels is
a bit sophisticated for me!
Anyway how do I get these off? The garage said they could do it with
difficulty. What about a specialist tyre fitter (I'm coming close to
needing new tyres)? Can I buy a replacement key somewhere?
LOL! - Whoops.
What should work, unless they're a particularly upmarket type of locking
wheel nut, is just bashing a slightly undersized socket that you don't
particularly care for, over each locking nut in turn, and replacing them
with a new set, which should come with a key, which you'll now remember not
to chuck away!!
