I suppose my question is why would you want to? OK for a toilet or lunch
break but not the most attractive places to stay overnight. There is always
a nice campsite not far away. Not so sure about the safety as I have never
stayed on one but thousands do each year and they can't all get robbed! If
you do stay, taking a few extra precautions might help. I note from lots of
people who say they have been robbed whilst on an aire all the robber has to
do is force the door and wallets, passport, cameras etc have usually been
thrown on the sideboard so its an easy task to gather them up and be off in
seconds. So store valuables out of sight. We use a personal alarm. One end
fixed to the caravan and the lanyard twisted around the door lock. If
someone attempted to get in the alarm would come immediately.

OK then lets bring it back on track

Much discussion is made of the SAFETY of stopping on AIRES over night

What's the consensus of opinion

As inveterate European travellers we always use the Aires and have done so for more than 25 years, no problems ever. Their great benefit is when there's a lot of miles to do and all that's required is a bite to eat and a kip.
