Maybe we were just the unlucky few who had the dodgy windows and its not our fault, I'm sure it is a manufacturing problem.I don't know if anyone else has this experience but I would be interested to know. I have a 2008 Eldiss Avante Club. I have used it quite a bit this year but only during our last weekend away did I notice some strange markings on the front window, Inside the sealed panel that looked like a grey mould. The mark on the outer front pane exactly matching that on the inner one. What it actually looked like at first was a greasy mark on the glass and i tried to rub it off.
I took it back to the dealer who said he knew what it was. It was caused by wind pressure when driving causing the inner and outer faces to meet and rub together. He had seen it occur with other makes.
It just didn't seem a logical explanation to me as although the inner and outer might touch i didn't think they would move in the opposite plane to cause scratching. Plus it would take a hell of a lot of pressure to make the 2 faces touch I would think. I don't drive that fast, seldom more than 60 and i have been a caravanner for a long time and never seen this before.
I am getting the window replaced in a couple of weeks with no hassle but i was just curious if it happened to anyone else?

Yes same problem with my 1997 Bailey ranger. Puzzled me for a longtime but the only explanation for the marks, just as you describe, is flexing of the outer plastic causing the internal surfaces to contact and rub. Very annoying since cost of a new window is very if not prohibitively expensive bearing in mind the age of my van.
