Perhaps the Dutch living in the euro zone haven't had a 20 percent reduction in the value of their currency.
As for the price of diesel I'm hard pushed to see a difference between Tesco in UK and Hyper U FR and referece sites (up to date) show Holland much the same.

Just come back from France, I noticed there seemed to be fewer UK
caravans and many more Dutch ones about.
Is fuel cheaper in Holland?

Diesel is considerably cheaper in The Netherlands than in UK but petrol is more expensive. Diesel and petrol are both cheaper in France than in The Netherlands.
That said, the Dutch don't have to pay exhorbitant fares to get across the Channel. Over the weekend, I got a quote from Brittany Ferries for the return trip Plymouth to Roscoff in October and was shocked at the £470 fare. Even leaving the caravan home and travelling by bicycle the fare would be £200 for the two of us - and cycle camping is far less comfortable than caravanning :(
OK, I know that you can get cheaper crossings (e.g. Norfolk Line to Dunkirk) but the fuel costs to tow to Kent from Cornwall are hideous and it would be cheaper (and quicker) for me to stump up what BF ask than drive Cornwall to Kent and Pas-de-Calais to Brittany.
