Pet,
Much of what you say is bollocks!
Ant, you do know that you are somewhat stating the bleeding obvious!!!
Marcy benches are excellent for the money.
"For the money" - nail, head, hit!
More to the point, if you think "flicking the tube section" proves
"how crap they are" then you are indeed as dumb as I always had you
down to be! (do they shout "ouch dont flick me" or something?)
Hey, come on. I'm sure Pet's endless hours in the gym (recently?) have given
him a great insight into what answers back and what doesn't!!!
Retard...
Now there's a word!
I agree that squat stands would make for a better purchasing decision
if legs are the primary concern, but saying Marcy benches are crap is
IMO somewhat misleading. Still.....thank *** im here to bring some
sense to your schtooopid post!
I see not much has changed!! :)

Hello,
I've only got about 80 quid or so to buy a training bench. Not a
lot of cash I know but does anyone have any good recomendations for
that price range?
My legs being my weekest body part, I would probably be using it
primarilly for leg training so something that has solid parts and
can handle a fair bit of weight without it dropping to bits would
be desirable.
I've been hovering over the 'Place your order' button for this:

... but thought I'd better ask you lot first to see if you could
sugest something better for me wonga.
Don't waste your money.
Even more important if money is very tight!
NOTHING that has "Marcy" in the name will satisfy either the "has
solid parts" or "can handle a fair bit of weight" requirement.
As the cost of steel and cast is rising faster then the cost of oil,
the quality is going to be getting less and less, and you started
with crap under the Marcy name many yeas ago!
You would be much better off scraping together enough money for a
set of squat stands and some iron than a completely crap bench that
you'll barely get scrap value for when you realise it's only
suitable for pre-teen school children!
Do Sissy squats, walking lunges, one legged squats (on a box or
decent flat bench) all of which can be done with body weight or
minimum weight and still hit the legs hard.
My other tip would be.....
Buy more weights today. the price is going up again by a very
significant amount (around 25 to 30% again!! )
Steer clear of any "all-in-one" bench, they're bad at best even when
you pay 200 to 300 quid !
Most people ignore advice and go with their own ideas regardless. I'm
not pushing to sell anything cos I wouldn't sell anything I wouldn't
be happy to use myself (hence you won't find Marcy stuff on our site)
But go look at the brand in real life, give the tube section a
flick... you'll hear how crap it is.
Good luch whatever you decide.
