This BT is a plucky little beggar, and was fighting the bee tonight as dusk fell. It seemed to drive the bee out at one point, but it returned, and the BT started getting the worst of it, preening as though it had been stung, and dropped through the shrub surrounding the nest box.
Are tits and bees compatible room-mates? 8-)
Certainly NOT! Take a look at David Jones' Diary for 2003. Here's a direct
link:-
Once the bee moved in, the BTs abandoned the nest and gave up the fight.
Finally as I thought it had given up, and as the light was getting too bad for the camcorder, the BT slipped back into the nest box, and apparently the bee must have settled down below the nest bedding.
I had stopped recording at that point, and only saw this drama about 10pm.
Any advice or suggestions to help the poor bloody BT would be welcome.
My lady friend suggested I go out with my Supersoaker water pistol I got to deal with cats....
I would cheerfully swat the bee if I got the chance. :-(
