Mostly I just say "would it be OK for me to turn up in a xxx this afternoon"
and they say yes and give the briefing. I have never yet been asked for my
name or reg or ETA or anything[#] so they would have no way of kicking off
overdue action.
[#] Except when I planned a trip to a military airfield (which was cancelled
due to weather). They seemed really keen to know when I was arriving to
within a couple of minutes, a fortnight in advance.
