The sound from the SS pre/power on the TLS80s is refined and
recessive
but with far too much bass for vinyl in my room. Quite perfect for
voices from the DAB radio (which are *** on the horns) but, again,
too
much low-level noise on the FM tuner from much of the material (but
not
all)...

Bout time U had a decent erection there;!..

No comment..!! :-)

Best tuner around and U don't feed it properly!....

I get an indicated 'signal strength' (on what I believe is generally
reckoned to be a useful meter) of between 50 (lowest) and (usually)
55-60 dBf from my reinstated 4-element FM aerial. (Would more elements
be worth considering ?)

The noise I refer to is the low-level 'wind in the microphone' roaring
that is most noticeable on Classic FM at times - made worse when the
TLS80s do such a good job of reproducing it! (The BBC stations are
usually fine and sound 'better than CD' to my ears....)

What tickles me with this bugger is the way it grabs a station - with
all the control set at 'medium' (IYSWIM) all you have to do is give the
knob a spin in the right direction and the set does the rest - you can
walk away!!

(Oops, was that getting a bit 'hyperbollockal'...??)
