: Hi,
:
: I'm looking for DVD+RW or DVD-RW discs that can be played
on my
: marantz dv4300 player. I've tried DVD+RW discs of both
Sony and
: Philips - the player often ejects these disc the first
time I'll
: insert it, but after a second or third attempt it starts
to play the
: disc! Strange, but true.
:
: Anyway, I want to use discs that always work the first
time I'll
: insert the disc. So does anyone know a brand whose
dvd-rewritables can
: be played on this player without any problem?
:
: Thanks in advance.

I have the DV8300 and do a lot of home movie DVDs and
usually burn to a DVD-RW first as a trial run. Helps to
check out menus, chapters etc. and saves on making a lot of
"drink coasters". I have not found any DVD-RW that won't
work and I seem to have ended with several different brands.
I would suggest you look at your burning techniques ;-) I
have used been using Nero (seems like forever now) with
Pioneer DVD burners and do not have a problem.
BTW from the problem you have are you "finalising" the discs
correctly" If it won't initialise first up there is a
problem in the boot sector. Faulty discs usually pixilate at
various places while playing. Also I have *never* used
DVD+R/RW discs so can't comment on these.
Cheers TT
