No - sure the volume from the Denon was down quite a lot on the Shure
- that could be it. And it is just a touch hummy as well, but I would
say if anything the Shure has just a bit too much mid range - a bit
more presence, you might say. Obviously I don't know how that record
is meant to sound,

Yes, once I've got the tracks down I don't much care what went into
producing them. Anything not too good can be done again. Another rummage
(there's a ton of stuff I want to hear for myself) turned up the album this
