Good advice. I know of many people who have exchanged their
SS amp for a valve system. I have not heard of anyone in
the
past ten years who has made the transition in reverse.

I totally agree with Eric Barbour, who stated that many
CD player/SS amp/speaker combinations sound as if
they were designed to strip paint off walls, not for the
reproduction of music.
