I can see that you lot are even more cynical than myself, wow! I would
never have believed it. You know, for the sake of £55 I'm tempted to
buy a PowerKord and prove you all right...or wrong ;) It would be
interesting to add a single 'upgrade' mains cable to the CD player and
see if I can actually hear the difference.
The reason I say I might try this, is that I used to be a cynic about
interconnects, that is until I upgraded my gear recently and tried some
out, and the cables made as much difference as replacing the components
costing several times more. Even replacing unbalanced to balanced with
the same model cable was a revelation. However I agree logically with
everything that's said above, if the mains is relatively clean, I can't
see how replacing cables can really improve on it and the component
power supply is changing ac to dc so any ripples should be taken care
of anyway.
