The microphone pictured looks to be a cheap dynamic model. Most sound
card microphone inputs are designed to energise electret microphones.
Their energising voltage could be upsetting your hi-fi input.
A better approach would be to use a small inexpensive mixer, like
something from the Behringer Eurorack range. (See, for example:
http://www.dv247.com/icat/25.) These provide a tape output that can go
to your hi-fi and a main output that can go to the line input of your
sound card.
I use a UB1002 with my hi-fi. It is very useful for routing inputs
from different sources, including microphones, to various recording
devices and for connecting an external USB PC sound module.
