I don't expect the Ministry of Truth (BBC) to mention this, but it
could get nasty. First the Germans plan to close all their nuclear
reactors, now they open a pipeline to increase their dependence on
Russian gas...

This is not going to turn out good, haven't they learnt anything from
the past 100 years of history? When the last reactor shuts down, the
Russians will hold them to ransom, it could start World War 3.
Makes you wonder WTF is going on in the world, it's getting like 1984,
the rulers have lost touch with reality, they believe their own
telescreen propaganda, using twisted logic to say that because one
reactor in Japan goes bang, suddenly all the reactors in the world are
about to do likewise, and must be closed regardless of the
consequences.
The Russians won't be closing their reactors, that's for certain,
they'll be keeping their gas and oil for export.
I wondered WTF crack Merkle was smoking when she came out with that - I'd
always though Germany was largely sensible (for the last few decades
anyway).
Anyone increasing dependence on Russian gas after watching what happened
when they switched off the Ukraine's supply, is off their head.
Seeing as we thankfully, do seem about to build some (assuming they haven't
hanged their mind again), maybe we should build double and wire up some new
interconnectors. Between us and France we could keep the lights on and
actually export something...
There're going to cover the country with!..
Windmills!..
So its all going to be alright!....
On this ng a year or so ago there were a lot of postings by our German
members showing that quite a small area of the Sahara would provide
enough sun energy for Germany. These plans may have been put into
abeyance, but they can be brought forward again.
