The return journey was equally confusing - PIS at Paddington showed
'Circle Line to Edgware Road': but at least this time there was a
platform announcement stating that CL trains were continuing to Baker
St and other stations because the H&C platforms were closed.

That was last month, when the line through Paddington main line to
Hammersmith was closed, due to Crossrail enabling works (I think that was
the explanation). LU also used the opportunity to do some renewal work at
Royal Oak.

I also discovered that it is possible to exit the inner roads at Edgware
Road towards Baker Street.

But if the Circle had reverted to its old pattern, to show the train
as going to Hammersmith was totally wrong. There's no excuse for
that. Given how often it may have to happen during works over the
years, they ought to be able to show westbound trains along the top of
the Circle as going to places other than Hammersmith.
