This is somewhat bizzare, although an all-electric East Anglia system
would have its advantages.
Steady on, chaps! Let's concentrate on Tiers 1 and 2.
A weakenss, and this is a draft for consultation, is that after the
core (MML/GWML/GO-B) we just have a list of opportunities rather than
a structured programme. I haven't had a chance yet to work out
whether the lists are in order of preference.
But it is certainly a lot more positive than I expected. Note
especially that it majors on why the electric railway is a better
railway rather than on carbon savings (as in the 2007 White Paper).
