Yep, although 156s do turn up from time to time.  If you fancy the
longer but more scenic route down the coast via Sunderland &
Hartlepool, you've a better chance of seeing a 156, as they interwork
with Tyne Valley line stopping services from Hexham.  The 142s are
mainly refurbished NT-liveried examples with a few ex-ATN ones thrown
in.
