I want to undertake a journey this Saturday with a wheelchair bound
passenger which involves changing platforms at Ellesmere Port station.
The
Merseyrail platform seems accessible but I'm getting differing opinions
about access to the non-electrified line platform. Network Rail website
says
access by footbridge only. Merseyrail disabled assistance say (not very
convincingly) footbridge is accessible to wheelchairs. Is there anyone
out
there with first hand knowledge about the footbridge or any other way of
reaching the other platform please?

Station Road runs over the line just feet away from the footbridge
There is a footpath and access to both platforms down a sloping road
ways.
Hope this helps

It would take about 5 to 10 minutes to push a wheelchair out of the station
and over the road bridge at Ellesmere Port to change from one platform to
the other.
