Incorrect. They are trying to stop electricity being produced in a
certain way. That is very different to your assertion.
Which would mean a huge reduction in the amount of electricity generated, and no
train services on much of the network.
Well I bet many of them have freezers. OK, then, they won't be able to boil
water with an electric kettle to make tea.
I have been in buildings not connected to an external electricity
supply. The electric kettle works perfectly well, using electricity
generated from a variety of sources, stored in a battery and then
converted to 230V AC using an inverter.
But they need electricity to charge up the batteries.
They won't be able to watch their videos or communicate via the internet either.
The same buildings have had video/DVD equipment, display screens and
computers connected to Internet.
All these need a source of electrical power. Whether the protestors like it or
not, Britain is dependent on fossil fuels. The only realistic alternative would
be to go down the French route, and build many nuclear power stations. Wind
power is too intermittent to be supply more than a small proportion of the
total.
