10 times more French people (200,000) live in London than the number of
UK people who live in Paris. Despite the great improvements in food
culture in London (and the rest of the UK) in recent years, I strongly
suspect that's not the reason...
The reason is that here in the UK we're rubbish at foreign languages.
Neither are "the French" as belonging to another former major
colonial power.
On the other hand, people from the island "invade" France for a
retreat on the coast or in the countryside.
