When I abbreviate a collection of words, I tend to follow the convention
of using initial letters. Nobody at National Express has informed me
that they follow a convention of their own.
Besides, the National Rail Timetable reckons the correct abbreviation is
GR :-)
GR? Great Railway? An interim abbreviation? The old abbreviation of
GNER?
