Code for 'One' was a monumental waste of money on some 'shit for
brains' design consultancy but we would have looked really stupid had
we changed things then so, we've had to put up with 'One' until now
and therefore it doesn't look too much like an admission that we
really were a bunch of idiots.
I'll beg to differ a bit with you -
Firstly the top person/people at NX who went with the "separate
branding/no mention of NX" philosophy are no longer in charge - so the
"we" is a complex issue isn't it?
The new man - Richard Bowker - has the complete opposite view, he
wants the NX brand to be shown, and has therefore changed someone
else's policy.
So - it may have been a wrong decision, although I've come to like the
'one' livery - but the "we were a bunch of idiots" would probably be
better interpreted as "our previous management were...".
My concern is at the wast of paint and vinyl so soon after many trains
have been painted in the 'one' colours - and I hope station signs etc.
can be modified cheaply. I won't be impressed if the rebranding is
wasteful - and I'd probably leave c2c alone for the time being - its
doing so well why bother about a name?
