It wasn't evasion it was a legitimate business trip, I just happened
to pop into a supermarket on the way home which is my right as a EU
citizen.
I suggest you read the bit of the tax return about deductions for personal
use. If the reason you took a van, which is more expensive to operate than a
normal car, was merely to be able to fill up with cheap booze on the way
back, I think you will find they will be less than sympathetic.
