I'm never sure what the Commission on Integrrated Transport actually
does. Well, it seems to produce a report on something or other, every
now and again, but does anyone take any notice?
The Commission's latest report evaluates Britain on its transport
achievements compared with the rest of Europe. Surprisingly, the
Commission pats Britain on the back, and probably hopes someof the
praise will rub off on itself, while admitting that more needs to be
done.
Somehow, I don't think this is the document that will show the
Commission to be the positive, dynamic driver of transport policy that
the UK so desperately needs. I would sum up the press release as
"complacent".
