Hi,
On recent Sunday mornings I have seen 458s either in Farnham depot or parked
up on the approaches, on my way to church, so probably around 0940.
Does anyone know if we are getting these horrid things on the Alton line?
Many Farnham passengers are enjoying the occasional 444, and a 458 is not a
fair exchange!

Many of the Reading line diagrams start/finsh from Farnham - either on
the Aldershot-Ascot-London peak services or running empty to/from
Reading reversing at Ascot. The first and last services from Reading
run empty to/from Farnham Depot.
As 22 are needed for Reading line services and another four nominally
would work Guildford-Ascot services, there aren't any more (once
maintenance / unavailability is allowed for) for them to work to
Alton.
