At railway stations there is often a sign by the platform that says "OFF"
in
points of light. What does it mean? The train usually goes on its way when
the sign comes on.
On the information decal on the back of a locomotive, one of the
categories
is "RA", so on a Class 91 it says RA 7. What's that?
Thanks.
OFF means that the starting signal from the platform is off.
RA7, or any other number, denotes the route availability of the vehicle.
Brian.
