Dear all,
There is plenty of news on the net about railwayana in the uk, but,
rather like trainspotting - indeed, interest raliways in general - the
UK seems to lead the way.
Do the French fans swoon over a 241P cabside plate ?
Are there auctions in Germany where folks outbid one another for Kein
Trinkwasser signs from DB station loos ?
Are there Ole's following the euro bids in Spain for a RENFE 242F
buffer ?
Does anyone know if there is a country in continental Europe with a
developed railwayana market ?

I can speak for France and the answer is no! Mulhouse museum is a new
version but poorly attended and the atmosphere is dire.
In Germany I did find a museum but it was all in the open and rather
neglected.
Spain seems to have lept from ancient to modern in one go and i have
not noticed any interest.
The only competition with the UK seems to be the US and to some extent
Canada. However, when I was in Natal a few years ago, they were
happily playing with Garrets in a Nostalgic manner - oing steal tours
like the SLS used to ,Mainline steam having already finished.
