£250 upwards. My MP3 player was £24 over a year ago.
I'm guessing your £24 player was not a cutting edge MP3 player though -
what you could look at is what a player of the capacity and features
yours has cost when it WAS cutting edge - bet it was a lot more than
£24.
I bought a 64mb sony Player in 2000 - it cost an absolute bomb - now
you can get more capacity for £25 :-)
Prices for things fall, but there are other forces at work. A "good mobile phone" has cost £299 for the last ten years.
I won't hold my breath, but an 8" screen video player with 50GB for
about £50 would make a good Xmas present.
POrtable DVD players are starting to get near that mark (originally
coming in at £200+)
I'll be impressed when they can make them (rather than dump them) at that sort of price.
